What is this puzzle?
It’s a 3x3x3 twisty cube: 26 small pieces on a hidden central core. Each of the six faces can turn, and every turn moves nine stickers at once. Mix it up and the goal is simple to explain but tricky to do: make each face a single colour again. Lots of people know this kind of puzzle as a Rubik’s cube, and this page works as an online Rubik’s cube simulator. You can practise without wearing out your real cube, test moves you have read about, or just play.
The cube here uses the usual colours: white opposite yellow, green opposite blue and red opposite orange. When you start, white is on top and green is facing you.

Our cube trainer gives you a practice cube for each step and tells you when you have got it right. Stuck on a real cube? The cube solver works out the moves for you.
